Reding’s Gravel and Excavating Acquire Edwards Contracting of Hampton Iowa and Open Storm Lake Location

Algona, IA - Reding’s Gravel and Excavating entered into an agreement with the Edwards family to acquire Edwards Contracting of Hampton, Iowa. The company will continue to operate as Edwards Contracting, a division of Reding’s Gravel and Excavating, out of its current location in Hampton. The acquisition was effective January 4, 2016.
The company announced that it intends to retain all employees from Edwards’ Hampton, Iowa office and plans for additional employees in the future.
Edwards Contracting specializes in highway and interstate subdrain installation. Subdrain is a drainage system underneath or alongside the road that removes subsurface moisture
The addition of Edwards Contracting’s subdrain experience and equipment allows Reding’s to diversify its services, utilize specialized resources and personnel, and better serve its customer.
“Edwards Contracting has been a well-respected company, both within the industry and the Hampton community,” says Chuck Reding, president of Reding’s Gravel and Excavating. “We look forward to Edwards Contracting joining our team, as we continue to deliver the extraordinary level of service clients have come to know from Reding Gravel & Excavating Company.”
Additionally, Reding’s announced the opening of a Storm Lake, Iowa location that will operate from the former Lundell Construction office. Reding’s Gravel and Excavating also purchased Lundell’s gravel pit and crush yard. Longtime Lundell general manager, Kevin Dreher, will continue to manage day-to-day operations at Reding’s new location. The Storm Lake operation allows Reding’s Gravel and Excavating to better serve customers throughout the region by continuing to offer general excavating services, site preparation, underground utility work as well as custom crushing, material sales and hauling.
